A romantic couple are seated in a swing, appearing to suspend by rope from entwined branches joined at the top, and with a brass title plaque: "Idylle Printaniere, par Geo Maxim", the couple swinging from side to side without apparent impulse, C.1890 -
French figural garniture with candelabra, with 8 day pendule a Paris time and strike movement, recoil escapement and count wheel striking on a bell, white enamel Arabic numeral dial with floral decoration, blued steel hands, gilt brass bezel with beveled glass, the large case of patinated spelter, with a young couple swinging between two pruned tree trunks, the trunks supporting vines with leaves and ferns below, the rustic style feet with oak leaves and acorns, on a marble base with fine red orange veining, and set with a small plaque engraved "Idylle Printaniere Par Geo. Maxime", the right side of the clock case also signed Geo. Maxime, the candelabra also with pruned trunks supporting vines, each with a single Putti, ending in spreading branches with leaves and budding flowers, each supporting one bud form candle cup, and supported by marble bases on 4 rustic feet, with key c1880 -
France, three piece mantel garniture, 8 day, time and strike, pendule a Paris movement, the clock case with a harvest theme, male and female figures with rake and scythe, clock case decorated with flower garlands, white enamel Roman numeral dial with a polychrome enamel center featuring a bird holding floral garlands supporting a nest with eggs above the 6, gilt Louis XV style hands, gilt bezel with convex beveled glass, all on a white marble base with blue green veining, supported by scrolled feet, the urn form candle holders with handles and floral ornament, set on bases matching the clock, c1880 -
