Jennens, London, giant triple fusee bracket clock, quarter chiming, a race award presented to owners of "Benazit", and with large brass letters screwed the base = "Birmingham, Won By Benazit, 1869". With a very large and robust movement, with round silvered dial containing in its center a Halifax rolling moon, days of the week dial to left and a simple calendar dial (1-31) to the right. Playing the Westminster tune on 4 large and deep toned bells, and striking the hours on an extra large cathedral gong. The balloon shaped case with floral carving to the front, c1869 -

Planchon is well known for making in the last quarter of the 1800s, all the styles of clocks that had been popular a century earlier, and he specialized in models that might appear in the Louvre.
