English, large inlaid mahogany quarter chiming bracket clock, 3-fusee, chiming on your choice of 8 bells or 4 gongs [and striking the hours on a deep toned cathedral gong, with a rectangular dial, engraved and silvered, and with subsidiary dials in the arch for Chime / Silent, F /S , and Whittington or Westminster tune, serviced by B. G. Taylor, Marple (Stockport), label on rear of dial. The case with wooden side frets, bun feet, and floral inlay on the canted corner moldings and front panels, + cross banding around the door, sides and top. C.1885. -

Seth Thomas Clock Co., Thomaston, Conn., "Sonora Chime Clock No. 261" 8 bell 8 day time, strike and chime spring driven movement, dated 1914 -
German {in the English style} large fusee bracket clock, retailed at 29 Church St, Liverpool by Frisch Schierwater and Co (on dial), an ebonized case with cast brass "jester" caryatids to the corners, fancy cast brass side frets, all surmounted by a giant urn and flame finial, with smaller finials to the corners, the whole resting on "toed" feet. Note this clock chimes Westminster quarters on 4 tuned flat wire gongs and strikes the hours on a much larger 5th deep toned gong. Subsidiary dials on the arched dial are for Fast / Slow and Chime / Silent. The dial with cast spandrels of winged cherubs on both the dial corners and at the apex of the arch, and gilt foliate castings filling in other areas. Note this is a two [2] fusee clock, with reliable quarter chime and strike system designed by Winterhalder and Hofmeier....see horizontal pins on rear of tune drum to perform strike. C.1890 -

French, Empire style mahogany mantle clock, featuring a central frieze with a bare breasted maiden next to an obelisk surmounted by a globe. The base of the case with Egyptian themes, two sphinx with the head of Cleopatra. Bell strike movement has silk thread suspension. Dial signed LaPlace, Paris, c1840 -
