Joseph Ives or Amasa Ives, Jr. & Co., Bristol, Conn., flat top tall case clock, 8 day, time and strike, two weight driven wooden movement roller pinions in a pine case with full columns flanking hood door, scallop molding on top of Chippendale style bracket base and blank dial plate -
Joseph Ives, Plainville, Conn., "Hour Glass" mantle clock, 30 hour, time and strike, powered by single "wagon-spring" attached inside the top of the case with fixed lantern pinions instead of typical Ives rolling pinions, A cast iron frame supports the movement and spiral gong base in an hour glass shaped mahogany veneer case with reverse painted lower tablet and turned columns with urn finials. The brass dial has a raised chapter ring with painted black numerals. -

C.1820, Joseph Ives, "Patent Look-Glass" 8-day time/strike, 2-weight wall clock (short pendulum). This example is smaller than the standard size, which is closer to five feet tall. The case looks more like a large version of the reeded pilaster and scroll top case with a wood movement that was made by Ives and Lewis among others. -
