Description
The bell strike movement is unmarked, except for No. 811. The porcelain dial with the original looking hands has no problems. The regal looking woman is in a thoughtful pose as she stands by a nice writing desk with books by the other side. The case, below the dial, has copper around the body. On the case there is a putti figure with a mandolin . The background around the putti covers many things from art to war. The base is gilt bronze with curled feet and acanthus leaf ornaments. The copper on the case gives a nice break from the gilt coloration. Circa Pre - 1850. This clock matches clock #157 but with a copper background. The clock is running and striking at this time. Dial - 3 1/2" Diameter; Case - 18 1/4" Tall x 14" Wide
