Description
Condition: the hood and access panel are original. The bottom key drawer is absent, but easy enough to make. The replaceable front time scale was repainted in Japan around 1873, after the Imperial decree that all Japan should go to the 24 hour western time system. The scale has nice age [over 100 years of wear and patina], and adds to the history of the timepiece. Also retains original weight with horizontal bar to indicate the time. The crown wheel is a bit crooked as you can see in the detail foto and may require attention. Height 17 inches
