Description
This is a very large and impressive piece, and you need a strong wall to mount it on. First, the bracket (which is most often missing), is now without its shell veneer, it appears to have been restored by staining the wood red. At the front corners of the bracket are two large rams with acanthus drops. The intermediate base has a large stallion at each of 4 corners, the clock itself with castings representing the 4 seasons, and surmounted by Zina, the warrior princess. The square 8-day movement with plain brass bob pendulum, strikes the hours on a bell. The case is missing some bits of brass and front door and some mounts are loose. Height 55Ó $3,500-$4,500
