Description

This example, identical to No.173 except the case has been cleaned up a bit more. The dial, though a Seth Thomas with good original paint, does not have the trademark and is off another S. T. cottage timepiece as there are 2 extra screw holes (really looks OK). Retains same hands, "T" movement and eagle label as previous example. This lot has a plus in that it has a label on the back of "M. J. Murray, Practical Watchmaker and Jerseler, 346 Fourth Avenue, New York. French, England and American Clocks Repaired." This label has the owner, J. B. Hildreth, penned on it and the date Jan. 3rd 1885. Height 11Ó $200-$300
