Description

The polished brass case in simple Greek form, houses a large and well made round bell strike movement, controlled by a detached balance, suspended at the case top, the lever arm rising through a hole in the roof of the case, the impulse pin engaging in a slotted disc on the balance shaft. The balance is sprung with a helical spring, well over an inch high and of large proportions, so that the coiling and uncoiling of the spring is quite visual. The main balance is 2.25' diameter, adding for the rating screws, it is 2.7' in diameter. A rare and unusual mantel regulator; height 14.25'
