Description

A French clock, quite small, decorated on the front and sides with champleve and cloisonne enamel. The movement strikes the hours and the half hours and runs for eight days. The polychrome enamel is made to a first class standard. The mounts are bronze engraved and chased to provide detail and then gilded. The plinth does not belong to the clock. It is merely used to raise the clock up to show it to its best advantage.
