Description
It is approximately 7 inches high, 13 inches long and 3 inches deep. The enameled face is in excellent condition. 'France' appears below the '6'. The glass is beveled and the bezel brass. The quality pinned movement has a platform escapement. It is 8-day, time-only. The movement is marked with the letters "H and H", along with "Made in France" beneath this. The movement is also stamped with a lion. There are some numbers scratched on the inside of the back door which looks like "VI/25-13". I don't know if this is a date, perhaps of manufacture or of repair. The roman numerals "VIII" are also scratched along the inside door. The clock is keeping very good time. The wooden case is in very good condition, only minor wear, appropriate for the age. The case sits on four small brass round feet. The back brass door is scratched up, but that of course is not visible for display. There is a key, the clock winds from the back.
