Wood, Montreal, "16" A Frame Fusee Gallery Clock", round 16 inch gallery clock that was retailed by Wood of Montreal in the 1860 era, and was probably made in England. The clock is signed on the fusee movement Wood and Montreal. This movement is a typical English 'A' frame movement with the original fusee type pendulum. It is a name that we have seen before on clocks of this period in Canada. The mahogany and mahogany veneer case was probably made in Canada. The front opens with hinges on the side and locks with a latch as opposed to using bars and wood taper pins. -
