In the style of Thomas Cole, London, C.1850, figural group fitted with a French silk thread suspension movement. Gilt brass cast branches and an engraved silvered dial. Silvered cast figures. -

Kroeber Clock Co., New York, "Noiseless Rotary No. 4" mantel clock with 8 day time and strike spring driven movement in enameled cast iron case with marbleized columns and painted metal figure supporting rotary pendulum with bronzed ornaments, c1882. Note the statue holds a ball style pendulum that travels in a conical pattern, as it is driven by a rotating stud projecting upward from the movement. Kroeber and Briggs were the only two Americans known to utilize this French invention, and Terwilliger's versions were made in Germany. -
