French, Lighthouse Clock with helical Torsion Pendulum, in a rectangular case simulating stone construction silvered center stones and brass-gilt corner stones. The square movement is signed with Guilmet trademark, serial No. 1023. The briskly rotating pendulum, suspended from the center of the dome, is surmounted by clear and colored prisms that simulate the motion of a lighthouse beacon. c.1885 -
English, mahogany cased Victorian, triple fusee chiming bracket clock, playing your choice of Whittington tune on 8 bells or Westminster on 4 heavy flat-wire gongs, and then counting the hours on a large deep-toned cathedral gong. The impressive case with ormolu caryatids to the corners surmounted by a large pineapple finial, surrounded by 4 flame finials. The finely engraved dial plate is gilded and with subsidiary dials for chime-silent, F/S and tune selection. -
