Welch, Spring & Co., Forestville, Conn., "Gale Drop Calendar Model No. 1" wall clock, 8 days, time and strike, spring driven movement with perpetual calendar, patented 1869 and produced from 1871 to 1874. The movement is housed in a rosewood veneer case with faux rosewood graining around top and a reverse painted lower tablet. The painted metal dial is marked "GALES PATENT Feb. 14th, 1871", c1871. -
