Unsigned, English tall case clock, 8 day, time and bell strike, weight driven movement in a figured mahogany case with Chinese Chippendale decoration on hood below arches and on frieze above trunk door, carved floral rosettes, full round fluted columns flanking dial and matched crotch mahogany veneers on trunk door and base with reeded corners with lamb's tongue stop resting on ogee feet. The painted metal dial has date calendar and moon phase. This style of case was made in the Manchester and Liverpool areas of western England. -
