Reuben Tower, Hingham, Massachusetts Patent Timepiece or "Banjo" Clock with Alarm, the mahogany case with roman numeral painted iron dial faintly inscribed "R Tower", brass side ornaments flank the waist glass of gilt scrolls against a red, white and blue background framed with half rounded moldings, the lower glass depicts five war ships in battle and central pendulum aperture, eight day, step train timepiece movement with integral alarm and winding arbor, powered by two lead weights and regulated by a pendulum. -
Reuben Tower, Hingham, Massachusetts Patent Timepiece "Banjo" Clock, with roman numeral iron dial signed "R. Tower/Hingham", mahogany case with gilded rope moldings enclosing the reverse-painted glasses, the throat a gilt scrolled foliate, the box glass a depiction of "Aurora", eight day time and strike movement with rack and snail hour strike on a top mounted bell, powered by two cast iron weights and regulated by a pendulum. -
