C.1855, Henry Terry, Plymouth, Conn, Office Regulator, Striking, 2-weight, 8-day in a rosewood and grained case. Both the case and movement were designed by Henry's brother Silas. Henry funded S.B. Terry's business in 1949, and a few styles of clocks appear with only the label of Henry Terry, such as this one. The movement is virtually identical to that used by Seth Thomas in their striking "No.1-Extra", since they purchased the right to manufacture the several regulator designs of S. B. Terry in 1859 for $750. Movement has maintaining power and dead-beat escapement. -
