Salfer, Wien, large walnut wall clock, the case with turned and carved architectural elements, and with applied brass ornament, bottom with carved bracket, door with applied spandrels, each with a banner inscribed with a short phrase in German, top with balustrade and brass finials, matted brass dial with applied female figures flanking the silvered dial with Roman numeral chapter, and calendar display apertures at 12:00, 5:00 and 7:00, fancy blued steel hands, massive, long running movement with day/ date/ month calendar, and with phases of the moon, with provision for starting the pendulum without opening the case, the main "I" shaped plate with auxiliary strike movement attached at upper left, c1870 -
