C.1890, American Oak Tall Case. Asian motif, now with a brass dial, moon phase / calendar movement, signed G. W. Russell, Philadelphia, from the same period. -
Tall case clock retailed by G.W. Russell, Philadelphia, 8 days, time, strike and chime on 5 tubes, three brass weight driven movement in an ornately carved oak case attributed to R.J. Horner, New York with gargoyle top, fluted and turned corner columns topped by Corinthian capitals on hood, cut out frets, beveled glass doors, carved corner columns, two raised panels on each side, resting on a base with checkerboard panels on sides and front on huge furry paw feet. The engraved brass dial has applied corner spandrels, silvered chapter and second's rings and moon phase.
