Jurgen Luther, Copenhagen Denmark, walnut cased musical movement C.1730, in a later case of oak with walnut veneers, and inlays of ash, and incised ivory, on turned compressed ball feet, and with heavy ebonized moldings, bonnet sides with fabric lined openwork fret, top also with similar treatment, composite dial with matted center, gilt spandrels, silvered chapter ring and arch with engraving, possibly a coat of arms, steel chime selection indicator, and with the names of the tunes above, pierced blued steel hands, 8 days, 3 train weight driven movement with 6 nicely turned pillars, striking the hours on a large bell, and playing one of nine tunes on a nest of eleven bells, pinned cylinder 2 inches in diameter and 7 3/4" long, activating 22 hammers.
