Frederick James Lockwood, West Norwood, London, large bracket clock in the Gothic style, carved oak case with buttress corners supporting turned columns, the molded base with lancet arch blind fret, lancet arch door below a carved lintel, the tympanum with applied, modified foil and hawksbill molding, all topped with foliate carving and decorative finials, case sides with pierced wooden frets, Arabic numeral silvered dial with gilt spandrels, with subsidiary dials for selecting chime tune, mode and regulation, blued steel hands, and substantial, 8 day, 3 train fusee movement, sounding the quarters on four or eight bells and counting the hours on a large gong, the back plate also signed, c1845 -
