Note this clock has an early paper dial without the equation of time chart inside the month ring, C.1871. (See another example in today's sale with the equation chart present) -

Gale, "Drop Calendar No. 3", perpetual calendar wall clock with 8 day spring driven movement with full astronomical indications for the age of the moon, day of week, date, month and equation of time chart showing sunrise and sunset times for New England latitudes. The case is of recent manufacture, nicely done with walnut and mahogany veneers over pine, stained a mellow walnut color. -
