George Fitts, Bangor, Maine, standing astronomical jeweler's regulator, 8 day, time only, weight driven movement with sapphire pallets, Graham deadbeat escapement, maintaining power, counter weighted crutch pin fitted closely to a bushing in pendulum rod, German silver bushings with closed ends with integral end pieces and eccentric bushings for the pallet arbor in a walnut and burled walnut carved case with domed top and three finials, beveled glass trunk door and raised burl panel on base. The silvered astronomical dial is signed and dated 1847 by maker.
