C.1840, French, Douillon St. Nicolas d'Aliermont, bronze and marble figural clock GEOMETRY, 8-Day, bell strike. -
French gilt and patinated bronze mantel clock, base with scrolls and Adamesque vines, corner pilasters with fancy capitals, female mask above dial, squirrel, compote with fruit, and bird in frieze, acanthus leaf cornice, and top with stepped plinth, case sides with niches containing urns, base and top each with 2 patinated putti, the lower figures bearing swags of fruit, Roman numerals on ceramic cartouches mounted to gilt dial, blued steel hands, 8 days, time and strike, Pendule a Paris movement signed "Douillon", and "Christophle a Paris", c1850 -
