Balthazard, a Paris, large gilt bronze clock in the rococo style, the case and base decorated with acanthus leaves and c scrolls, shells, and other naturalistic ornament, the top with a putto seated on clouds before an openwork scallop shell, also with c scrolls and foliage, the front and sides with strap work fret backed with silvered copper foil, molded brass bezel with convex beveled glass over white enamel dial with blue Roman numerals and Arabic black outer 5 minute markers, and signed in pink enamel "BALTHAZARD A PARIS", gilt Louis XV style hands, the tip of the minute with dolphin, large round 8 day French movement with silk suspension and recoil escapement, striking on a bell, c1760
