Asian reproduction "Huguenin A Paris" swinging 8 day timepiece on marble base and brass stand including dome and base, c1990 -
Planchon, a Paris, turtle mystery clock of small size, the molded hexagonal, gilt bronze base with decorative engraving resting on recumbent lion form feet, supporting a pewter basin with Roman numeral chapter engraved around rim, the turtle floating in the basin and indicating the time, given motion by a magnet driven by the 8 day timepiece movement with lever platform, concealed in the base. Case bears the initials E. M., probably for Etienne Maxant, manufacturer of high quality bronze clocks, often copying earlier styles, c1890 -
French, Conical Pendulum Clock, a patinated / painted metal case, with the lady's outstretched arm holding a string from which is suspended the pendulum, driven in a circle by the small arm above the movement. The path followed by the rotating pendulum forms the shape of a cone, hence "conical", c1900, as found with restorations. -
Guilmet, France, mystery clock, black slate case with incised line decoration, lion mask handles, and paw feet, surmounted by a gilt female figure, her right hand held aloft with a torch, and suspending the pendulum. Pendulum impulsed through the nearly imperceptible movement of the gilt base on which the she stands, gilt Roman numeral black slate dial, gilt spade hands, 8 days time and strike movement with crank and stirrup escapement, back plate signed "Brevete GLT S.G.D.G." and numbered 943, c1875 -
