Description
The thick earthenware dial is in good condition with a small discoloration on the number "XI" and tiny chips around the winding arbor holes. Hand-finished iron hands. Wood winding drums were carved to shape rather than turned. Very light construction on the inverted crown wheel, indicating its age. Notched iron fly with four blades. Small feet on movement uprights. Suspension shroud measures 3.75 inches tall. Contoured case back provides clearance for pendulum leader. It is notable that the time train is on the right side of the clock and the strike train on the left. Doors on both sides are absent. The clock does not come with weights or a pendulum. This clock was sold by Ivoire Saint-Etienne on October 13th, 2012 as lot number 13.
