Description

(1) Case has been rubbed down and given a thin clear coat. Nice original glass. Paper dial is a replacement. Fairly complete rear paper labels. (2) Movement was remounted off-center. Paper dial dark, spotty, and worn. Original glass and hands. Partial rear label. (3) Case has been refinished and a crack in the crest glued. Replaced paper dial and door glass. Proper embossed pendulum. Spirit level integrated into base. Identical case to the Harvard with the addition of some molding and a 180 degree turn of the topmost applied ornament. We sold this same variant back in 2005. It, too, dated to 1893, but was manufactured in a different month of that year. Dimensions are for the Gounod (1). Sold "as is ".
