black finish is scratched off of the brass cases in many places. Neither instrument has mercury. Both thermometers appear to be complete and working. Packaging tape and residue on both wood cases. Henry J. Green was the nephew of and successor to instrument maker James Green. When James retired in 1885, the name of the firm was changed to Henry J. Green: Many of the barometers made in the United States between 1840 and 1940 were manufactured by this company.
