running, plates with minor spotting and fine marks and scratches, dial good, hands good, bowl with specks of tarnish, inner surface of bezel with minor staining and verdigris, box with minor scratches, dents, and losses to finish. This chronometer was one of 41 listed in the Record of Trial of Repaired Chronometers, December 1886- June 1887, included in the 1892 publication "Observations Made During the Year 1887 at the United States Naval Observatory". Of the 41 chronometers in the trial, 22 were of Negus' manufacture.
