Description
Mahogany and gilt front case in an old finish. It appears that some of the gilt areas are now gold painted. Unusual movement is mounted to the case with a screw through the backplate. The movement has very thin wheel spokes, a half moon cutout and unusual keystone shape The brass sidearms have unusual spacers that are similar to New Hampshire versions. Original iron dial has surface stains and some loss at the mounting pins and the edges. Because of the design of the movement the keyhole in the dial is closer to 3 o'clock. A small piece of rope molding is missing at the bottom of the throat frame and possibly one at the top. Throat tablet is a replacement. The bottom tablet is old, but possibly a replacement also. Period hands.
