Description

(1) Very few tiny chips to the edges of the slate case. Gold coloring inside of incised lines has faded. Beveled glass, enamel dial, and hands are excellent. The pallet jewels have been replaced with steel. The movement, stamped on the back plate, ticks but does not strike. (2) One chip about half an inch long on the front lower right side of the base. Gold color within the incised design is nearly gone. The gilding has worn off of the fluted columns. Two drilled holes on the front of the base suggest a missing ornament or plaque. The frieze is taken from a well-known historical work. Dimensions are for the architectural case (2): These items are heavy and fragile for shipping.
