Description

this clock is dusty and needs a little TLC. Droplets of something have discolored the top of the case; left return molding with a chip at rear various small losses to ebonized finish. The glass dial is original, but with crack from center across to 3 o'clock. Original green case liner and label are intact; label fully legible. And with a note in Doug's writing indicating he last wound the clock 19 June, 2006. The etched "lyre" motif tablet is original and excellent. Examples of the case & movement can be found in: "NAWCC supplement 16, summer 1987, Aaron Dodd crane, An American Original", and also this very clock (Shaffer's) with details is fully pictured in NAWCC supplement No. 9 (1973), page 83. Many of the clocks in today's sale are pictured in this same supplement. From the collection of Doug Shaffer. Ht 22"
