Description
the mahogany veneer case retains its original finish rubbed down and waxed with a few small veneer repairs and some deterioration and loss of finish to base. The beveled glass on the left side has been replaced with plain glass. The silvered chapter and moon phase rings have some minor oxidation. The original crank is included. Spittler and Bailey "American Clockmakers and Watchmakers" states that G.R. Clock and Mantel Co. was in existence c1898 - 1916 and was also known as Grand Rapids Clock Co. and were the successors to Dryden-Anin-Rose Clock Co. and manufactured hall clocks and art mantles in Mission, Colonial, and Dutch Revival styles.
