Description

The No. 156 movement has a balance wheel instead of a pendulum and strikes a bell. The porcelain dial has gilt metal arrow-shaped hands and is marked "La Bontemps - Paris". The case is a dark, rich green marble with added gilt metal decorations. A lady with a cherub on her back reaches for a basket of flowers. Below the dial there is a winged cherub in a chariot driven by a ram. On one side there is a Classical style youth with a gun and a drum. There is an added bronze frame around the bottom of the case to prevent chipping. The key is with the clock. (The clock does not run - both springs are wound tight.) 14" Tall x 10 1/2" Wide
