Description

The dial is signed, "Herschede / Germany". The 8 day solid plate movement is signed, "Herschede / Starkville / Made In Germany / No (0) Jewels". It strikes Westminster Chimes on the quarters, four hammers striking on four rods. I hung the pendulum, put it in beat, and it is running and striking the quarters, not the number of hours. I did not tinker with the movement to see why. The case is 17" high, there is a full back but no back door. Full front door, hinged and latches. Silver dial ring on a brass plate. Spandrels in the corners, mottled brass center, and correct hands. Nice clock but is less than 50 years old.
