Description
It has a beveled glass, bronze sash and mat, and fancy ornament around the dial. The marble dial is signed, "Heidenreich / Aachen". (There are numerous doctors in Aachen, Germany named Heiden reich, and used to be some clockmakers by that name. I suppose they became rich selling clocks then became doctors.) Numerals are incised and gold filled, hands are original. The case is 14.5" high, has a hinged bezel and sash on the back with a frosted glass that is broken. The French movement is typical, round with bell strike, outside count wheel, and is signed, "Japy Freres". There are some tiny edge chips on the back edges of the case.
