Description

"Fancy "burnt wood" mantle clock, Bohemian design and artistically colored, suitable for Den or Dining-room." That was the propaganda Gilbert put out to sell these clocks. There were at least three styles, perhaps more. Note the dice coming out of the cup on top, poker chips on the sides, and cards and dice on the sides. They said "suitable for dining room", where, Vegas? The wood case is a tad over 13" high, good paint all over, fancy dial, correct hands and flat glass in the sash. 70-80 percent of the label remains on the back, metal cover over the movement opening, and would you believe a small 30 hour time only pendulum movement. Ly-Gilbert No. 597.
