Description

The 8 day movement is stamped, "E. Howard and Co. / No. 10 / SN0444 / 5-76". Some parts of the case are also stamped, "444". This 34" high clock is in Mint condition, and I doubt that it was ever wound. It hung in a doctor's home in Atlanta since he bought it from Howard by subscription when they made 500 clocks and sold them to NAWCC members thru the Mart. Everything is original and in fine condition. I did notice that a couple of nails have fallen out of the wood ring support around the upper glass. Care should be taken until nails are put back. After the first 500 were sold to NAWCC members, Howard continued making this model until the early 1990's, and at that time they were selling them for almost $3000. Ly-American Clocks, page 118.
