Description
From all reports and comparisons it was made by E. N. Harvell of Ashboro, NC in 1975. Comparing it to the original ca 1885 violin clocks, this one is identical. He used original Seth Thomas 8 day lyre movement, pendulum, and large cathedral gong. This movement is signed and still has the Geneva locks. He made the walnut 29" high case, had the glass painted like the originals, and used a signed ST painted dial like the originals. Comparing this clock to other Violin reproductions, none are as near like the 1885 model as this clock. Ly-Seth Thomas, pages 746751. Horton's Auction May 2008, No. 27, sold for near $2000.
