Description
That clock sold for over $3700. We also sold one in our July 2002 auction for $4250. The case is pictured in Ly-New Haven No. 598, and the glass in Ly-Gilbert, page 39. Their glasses are found in both companies cases. The mahogany case is all original, apparently never cleaned or refinished for it is covered with crazing, and it stands 42" high. It is a very plain clock except for the extraordinary gold and red painted glass that advertised their flavorings and extracts. This company was domiciled in North Carolina and their products sold over a wide area. Inside the case is a signed beat scale, original brass bob and wood stick, original signed dial, and pair of old hands. The dial is spotted no doubt from water or oil, but is original. The glass is the important part of this clock and it is about as perfect as you will find in any of their clocks.
