Description
this clock was restored and sold by John Tanner in 1997, has his stamp on the reverse of the repainted dial pan. The tablet is a proper replacement. Bottom half inch of weight baffle is broken off; the label is worn at the edges but still around 85% and fully legible. Weights and pendulum are original. Has key lock doors, top lock inoperative, bottom OK. The rosewood veneer is in good condition; appears to have been refinished some time ago and with nice patina. Chris Bailey and I have discussed this clock and agree it was either a special order or prototype that was never merchandised. Note the bottom bracket is much larger than the one finally adopted for the No. 1-Extra. Also see music scroll gong base that has been re-located on case back. Of interest to the serious Seth Thomas collector. Ht 42"
