Description
mahogany banded inlayed case in very fine condition. Original tablets, dial, hands, eagle finial and stamped weight. A good example of Stennes work. Stennes was in his first year of incarceration for murdering his wife when this clock was made {murder was Dec 1968}. Details of his friendliness with the warden and the establishment of a jail house cabinet shop can be found on the internet. Note the warden received No. 1, and this is No. 4. Movement and dial are properly signed. Ht 29"
