Description
Condition: Mahogany and gilt frame case in generally good condition, the throat and door nicely gold leafed recently. Tablets are modern. The head may be a restoration as it is made up of several vertical segments rather than two halves joined at the top. A thin ring of wood was added to give the head sufficient thickness for dial and hands, plus various pencil marks. Dial seems original to the case, but has been coated with something glossy that is causing it to bubble. Bottom board has been damaged by he weight. Hands are period. Ht. 34"
