Description
Condition: complete and sound; rear cover is off for detail foto. The movement is clean and running, and is signed with the Guilmet trademark. Note in function this clock simulates a metal working function: someone would put metal to be treated between the hammer and anvil, and the lever to the left would have been depressed, releasing the steam and actuating the hammer. For reference, see Derek Roberts' book titled Mystery, Novelty and Fantasy Clocks, page 260, figures 22-18 and 22-19. The case is as-found, discolored with oxidation. Height 18 inches
