cherry with poplar secondary. Broken arch pediment with stout baluster finials. Scratch-beaded hood has no door, but framed and glazed panel slides down behind pediment. Waist has canted corners with lamb's tongues top and bottom, thumb-molded door, and removable, thumb-molded access panel above waist molding. Panelled base has shaped skirt and high, straight French feet. Original polychrome and gilt dial, floral decorations in spandrels and dial arch. 30-hour wooden movement accessed through circular hole in backboard. A nice Watson with great figured cherry, ca 1820. 94.75" high x 16" wide x 10" deep.Ex Paul A.
