Description
mahogany Victorian or Edwardian band saw cut with towering spires, galleries, balustrades, gates and more with inset clock in tower with some gilt highlights; 10.25" deep x 19.75" wide x 40" high. Includes an equally outstanding fretwork shelf with ghost on plate where the cathedral sat for decades; 16" deep x 34.5" wide x 21" high. Total height with cathedral sitting atop its shelf is 61" high. We know of two other nearly identical to this piece, except that they lack the stand. One is in the F.D.R. Library & Museum in Hyde Park, N.Y. Some minor repaired breaks as expected, and clock movement has been replaced with a battery mechanism, else EXC.
