with hand-painted wooden dial with Roman numerals on chapter ring, minute dots marking outer ring with Arabic every 15 minutes, spandrels with polychrome painted branching flowers and tombstone top with oval portrait of house with surrounding garden wall and red floral garter surround, 30-hour wooden weight-driven time and strike movement. Case is poplar with original dark varnish finish, bonnet with arched top with stepped cove-moulding and scroll-cut crest, interior or door signed in period ink Harry G. Button/Wethersfield, (likely Wethersfield, CT, south of Hartford). The lower case has plain waist with overlapping hinged door, base with cove moulding at union and bracket foot, 17.4" x 10.24" x 84.5" high. Condition report Very minor wear to dial, old glued break on crest. We do not guarantee working order of clock.
