painted wooden dial, Arabic on chapter ring, inner minute ring marked with dots, every 5 minutes with diamonds, seconds dial above center with Arabic every quarter, center with raised gold floral garter, interrupted by seconds dial at top, spandrels with similar gold floral scroll work, 8-day time and strike weight driven wooden movement, interior illustrated printed paper label with U.S. shield-breasted eagle clutching bunch of arrows and trident in one talon and olive branch and trumpet in the other over Patent/Clocks,/Invented By/Eli Terry,/Made And Sold/At Plymouth, Connecticut./By/Seth Thomas., door with period mirrored tablet, mahogany and mahogany veneered case with turned half columns with turned bases and acanthus leaf carved capitals, carved paw front feet with acanthus carved knees, turned rear feet, crest with splat carved with basket of fruit and leaves with acanthus leaf surround, flanked by plinths with returns, all in old cleaned varnish finish, 6" x 18" x 38" high.
